Drew and Jonathan spoke to TV Insider about the show being delayed in an interview published Monday (July 28).

“A lot of people don’t realize when we’re shooting these shows, we have certain shooting deadlines,” Jonathan shared with the outlet. “We want to turn around our edits and our deliverables, but we’re also following real stories of real life. We just surpassed our 600th episode of our shows, 600 families that we’ve been able to help, and at the end of the day, that’s all we really care about.”

According to Jonathan, filming with the real families they’re helping can make shooting schedules unpredictable, leading to minor delays like the one Chasing the West is experiencing.

If you missed it, HGTV just canceled two more shows.
