Kevin Sr, affectionately known as Papa Jonas to fans, shared with Billboard that he won the bidding war by “pledging to care for their songs the way an artist manager would.”

“I don’t know that anybody can love your music any more than I do or be any more proud of you,” he shared of what he told his sons. “I am not asking for less than the purchase price but for consideration of the passion I’ll bring to keeping your legacy thriving.”

“Of course, collaboration with [my sons] is going to be easy,” he added.

For their part, the brothers said it was a full circle moment selling their music to their father.

“We are passionate about songwriting and the creative process, and Leslie DiPiero [Jonas Group Publishing president] has always been a true champion for songwriters and creators,” they said in a statement. “We look forward to working with her and the team.”

The news comes just a couple weeks before the Jonas Brothers release their new album Greetings From Your Hometown on August 8th, and head out on the road for the JONAS20: Greetings From Your Hometown Tour, which starts two days after the album releases.
